Terms
Terms of use (draft)
What you agree to when you use Offclock, and what we agree to in return. Plain language first, legal text later.
1. Who can use Offclock
To create an app account, you must be at least 18, meet the age of majority where you live, and hold a verifiable work email address at a workplace where Offclock is available. Offclock is a product for individuals. Your employer is not a party to these terms, and use of Offclock is not a condition of your employment.
2. Your account and pseudonym
One account per person. You choose a pseudonym; it must not impersonate a real colleague, contain slurs, or reveal another person's identity. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure.
3. Conduct
Do not use Offclock to harass, discriminate, solicit, sell, recruit, or surveil. Do not attempt to identify people behind pseudonyms outside of a mutual reveal. Do not screenshot or share other people's answers or comparisons. Do not use the service to make employment decisions about anyone.
4. Answers, comparisons and reveals
Answers lock when you tap. You may explicitly change or revoke an answer; doing so invalidates comparison views that depended on the earlier answer. Comparisons require both people to accept and either may leave. Name reveals require both people to choose and cannot be unseen, although either person may still block the other.
5. Reporting, blocking and enforcement
Blocking is immediate and mutual in effect. Reports are reviewed by Offclock, not your employer. We may warn, restrict or remove accounts that break these terms. Where reasonable and safe, we will tell you what happened and why.
6. Current status
Offclock is in development. This website provides a product preview; app registration, verification and workplace communities are not publicly available yet. Its forms do not submit requests or create accounts. Features may change, pause or be withdrawn. Amazon does not endorse, sponsor or operate Offclock. Demo results are simulated and sample reviews are fictional.
7. Our content and yours
The prompts, design, software and this site belong to Offclock. Your answers belong to you. You grant us the limited licence needed to operate the service, including placing your locked answers in company aggregates once the twenty-answer threshold is met.
8. Limits of our responsibility
Offclock helps people at the same workplace find each other. We do not vouch for anyone you compare with, and we are not responsible for what happens between people outside the app. The service is provided as is during its limited rollout. The final terms will state the applicable limits of liability precisely.
9. Ending your use
You may delete your account at any time from settings. We may suspend or end accounts that violate these terms. Deletion removes your pseudonym, answers and comparisons as described in the privacy notice.
10. Changes
These draft terms will change before launch. We will announce material changes in the app before they take effect and keep prior versions available on request.
Draft prepared by the Offclock product team. Not legal advice. See also the privacy notice draft.
